![]() I reformatted the SSD, then rebooted my machine, held down Command and R, to get me to the utilities prompt. I Googled how to clone my hard drive, and I already had the SSD to USB cable for this. I went to the store and picked up a tool kit for $7, a WD Blue 3D NAND Internal SSD (500 GB) for $60, and a mounting rack for $6. Lastly I reformatted the HD and reloaded the OS - HD was running on bare bones with still no improvement on speed so I figured it had to be the HD. I checked memory and ran first aid several times with no solution. Then I removed a bunch of information from my HD to free up space, still no improvement. My IMac was running super slow and I checked for malware and viruses and found none. I'm a total newbie and never cracked an IMac open in my life, luckily everything can be done with quick references to YouTube. Not really a question, but I just did a swap of my hard drive on my mid-2010 27in IMac. ![]()
